In the years to come I’m going to look back on how fortunate I was to get to know Matthew Shell of MTS Music before he dominates the mainstream music scene. The pride in knowing that he’s a special guy and a good friend, both aspects I doubt he’ll never lose because he has a good head on his shoulders. Even more so I will be proud to know the genius of his production skills. a certain quality I noticed from the first moment I came across his work.
Over the past two years I’ve seen a lot of great work come from his studio in the field of writing music, engineering, musicianship and production. Out of all the people I know personally, Matthew exceeds them all. I only hope to produce as high of caliber music like he does one day. I’ve been granted my own special gift though, the gift of connecting with others and spreading the good word about their work.
Tonight I have a couple projects Matthew Shell is involved with. They differ tremendously which goes to show his broad range of talent.
First is a selection of songs from a soundtrack to an unexpected documentary about the fashion scene in our nation’s Capitol, Washington DC. I am sure I am not alone when I say that when I think of Washington DC, I picture conservative suits and conservative dresses worn by politicians and lawyers as they bustle around the city engulfed in their important work. But I should know by now that there isn’t only one side to any city. There are many sides. And one side in particular is fashion.
“The Politics of Fashion” chronicles this fast moving cities fashion scene. This is a project I would have loved to have produced or shot myself, so needless to say it is up my alley.
Produced by Travestee Films and Svelte LLC, Matthew Shell produced the soundtrack to this documentary, which I quickly share the trailer for.

I saved the best for last. That’s right, the soundtrack, the beautiful music. I am once again thoroughly impressed and feel blessed to be Matthew Shell’s friend. This soundtrack is amazing as it is very diverse tonally and of the highest quality which has become the Matthew Shell production standard,

Last April Matthew Shell produced a powerful proclamation of love to his newly wed wife called “My Baby.” In other words – my earlier words. This is what I had to say.
These well thought out lyrics were written in a very unique way. While Matthew Shell wrote the main hook, the rest of the lyrics were written by vocalists Ihsan Bilal, Honore’ and Don Juan, with each verse and each sentence in each verse having a special meaning in honor of what the lyricist conjured up about the couple’s personal journey to their current matrimonial bliss. The first verse was written by Honore’, the second verse by Ihsan Bilal, the third by Don Juan, the bridge by Honore’ and the scat outro by Ihsan Bilal.
