This year is almost over, and we from here remain firm with the intention of tropicalizing the world with our issue number 141. We are pleased to share four DJs who from their places are doing great things for sharing musical journeys, organizing parties, retrieving rhythms, among other things.
Starting the journey, first we talk of Montevideo and walking Club buzz. Founded in Montevideo in 2009, Club Subtropical (A collective of DJ’s, selectors and producers) places Uruguay on the map and heart of the emerging Global Bass scene.
Subtropical is a true transmedia laboratory where various artistic disciplines have their place: music, videorte, design and animation. All the artists involved share this space that gives a breath of fresh air scene Montevideo. Your monthly parties are filmed, recorded and displayed in real time via its website, which also offers original creations like mixtapes, tracks, remixes, short music for free downloads.
Today we sound like two members of this club rumba: Selectorchico and Lechuga Zafiro.
The first, musician, remixer and DJ-producer shares with us the mixtape ‘THE ROOTS OF SUBTROPICAL MUSIC’ with Cumbia, Guaracha, Merengue, Porro & Plena Dura.
The dj set is 100% vinyl seal Uruguayan Macondo, 70’s, a music scene so far unexplored and not available in digital mostly. Next year will be preparing a sample in the CCE of Montevideo and some reissues. This mixtape is one of the first stages of the project.
The second Uruguayan is Lechuga Zafiro that will be ringing with ‘TECNOFOLKLORE MIX 1′. Based primarily on the moombahton and derivatives, with the flavor of the Celebration Tecnofolklore and Subtropical Club, rhythms from Colombia to Romania, to enjoy this mix live without cuts or edits created in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Following the global travel party agitators, we have from France Pedrolito Radioglobal and his mixtape ‘TROPICALIZATION # 31′. This Digger and Dj is famous for the many mixtapes which explores tropical rarities and his party “Muevelo.”
And closing night from Argentina Anacaona tropical lady sharing ‘SI LE METO AL TROPICAL 8‘. A mixture of various climates, many landscapes and countless rhythms. Digger experimental and naturally, stirs the holidays in the Southern Cone DJ, whose tropical approach seeks to transform the festivities appeased fierce, lewd, fiery dances where dancers hips and feet make exorbitant mourning the tiles.
