The “third world’s” wealthy (their wealth largely due to keeping their country in a third world status) throughout history have sold out their beautiful land to large companies (or gangsters) to bring in the “Great Whites” (homage to Hunter S. Thompson) to spend their upper-middle and upper class money staying at newly developed resorts that almost always block beautiful views and force the natives to live in severe poverty. The natives of course live in severe poverty because their industries that kept them alive normally for centuries are now obsolete because the “Great Whites” greatly interfered. Of course they can always get a job working for the resorts – they just have to wear a big smile on their face as they serve. It’s a unique form of slavery don’t you think?
Well there are a few of us “Great Whites” that not only watch our weight so as not to become so, “great” but also are very well aware of this diabolical greedy behavior. Some of us, proudly I admit myself to be one of these aware people, travel with true class. We don’t stay in the devilish resorts, we don’t purchase a package deal with dinner and a show included with our “nature walks” and whatever the hell else the shamelessly blind “Great Whites” participate in these places; no, we live among the natives, we respect their culture, we want to learn and cherish what makes us all different and unique. We bring ourselves and exchange knowledge and experience with those whom we meet. And with all this we leave the land and the great people unscathed. We unfortunately are just few compared to the many “Great Whites” on their family vacations and honeymoons.
It appears the old El Guero Unico is back to ranting about the unfairness and shame of the world. I like this high horse I sit on because even though I speak my mind without much censorship (I only censor my grammar so as not to offend and to perhaps gain respect), I know I’m coming from the right place.
The “Great Whites” in their tourist gear, with their white legs, fat bellies, embarrassing tan lines, loud know-it-all mouths, and wasteful spending, continue on this tradition of senseless destruction and ethnocentric attitudes to this day. My hope is that the “first world” economies will finally collapse so severely that the “third world” bastards (“President” Nieto, Carlos “far from slim”, Mr. Chapo – sorry not meaning to just pounce on Mexico, it’s just a country I know more about) will suffer from not being able to deal with the “first world” businesses as usual. Also I’m looking forward to the legalization of all drugs so we can finally destroy drug Cartels and much political corruption in the “third world.” It looks as though these wishes of mine are coming true, as they are inevitable future events.
Today let’s turn our attention to the “Great Whites” in Colombia. On the Caribbean coast, a special place called Taganga, roughly ten minutes from Santa Marta on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada is currently under threat of losing their culture as the people are pushed aside and their lives disrupted by tourist ventures.
Systema Solar is making the appropriate noise to expose these evil dealings with their new music video Yo Voy Ganao and accompanying documentary Tangangueros with the aid of Associacion de Chinchorreros, local education centers and the community at large. In this documentary, fisherman and their families tell us about their rich ancestral heritage and way of life that is currently being disrupted.
As for the Yo Voy Ganao music video, it is beautifully shot. The images of natural beauty on this lovely coast are overwhelming. The song itself is extremely catchy as well. It looks like this was indeed a fun shoot. Systema Solar continues to deliver top-notch material.
Certain aspects of every culture should change indeed. I’m not voicing an opinion that all should remain unchanged forever. I strongly advocate civil and human rights to be the forefront of all cultures and governments across the world, but such changes occur internally and by philosophical evolution, not by force but by sharing information, love and respect.
“Great Whites” was in reference to Hunter S. Thompson’s “The Rum Diary,” where he described the obese caucasian American tourists as they aggressively vacationed in Puerto Rico during the 1950’s.
