Things really worked out well when it came to contributing to Cassette Blog’s third anniversary. I had a song sitting around that needed more work but I didn’t know what I was going to do with it when I was finished. It didn’t quite fit the vibe of the LP I’ve been working on for over a year and a half now, and I didn’t just want to upload it randomly. Then Cassette Blog came to the rescue when they asked for me to contribute.
Not just me however, but all the big players in this wonderful Digital Cumbia / Underground Tropical music world we all love so much. Cassette Blog has been a competitor in the past even though I write in English and they in Spanish, but I noticed, and perhaps it’s just me, that the competition ceased and a closer friendship was formed after I left Generation Bass. (There were many other friendships that were formed after I left that place believe it or not).
I was more than happy to contribute to their anniversary release along with many of my other close friends. Cassette Blog will be around forever as will I, side by side shedding light on the beautiful underground releasing new exciting work as well as introducing new talent. I look forward to our future.
I waited until all the compilations were uploaded before making this massive post. Here they all are, too many to review one by one, but I can say with much gusto that these compilations show the diversity in our scene. We all have a unique voice and I feel these compilations represent our voices well.
Also don’t miss out on DASH SLKTR’s EP “Mueve” just recently released through Cassette Blog. DASH is a hardworking Tropical Bass master who has been a part of my blogging and music sharing life for the past few years. It wouldn’t be the same place without him!
