It’s been too long since we published The Indie Leak and I definitely want to keep it going. The cool thing about The Global Bass Experience is that we venture far outside of the mainstream hipsterdom of the U.S. to promote great talent from other countries involved in Indie music.
When most think of modern Brazilian music the genres of Baile Funk and Technobrega come to mind while when considering more classic Brazilian music we often think of Samba and Bossa Nova. But there is so much more going on in Brazil. Even my old bass player is involved in something very different in Brazil. He plays upright bass for a classical music orchestra down there. So there is a lot going on, especially when one considers all the massive rock concerts that take place in Rio featuring legendary Rock bands.
The Indie Leak has a special band to share from Brazil too. The band’s name is Sound Bullet, and their music is very catchy Indie rock. I was very pleased to speak with one of the members, Fred Mattos. He sent me several links and some information about the band.
Their first EP titled Ninguém está Sozinho (No One Is Alone) came out towards the end of last year. Produced by Diogo Strausz and recorded in the Caonto dos Trilhos Studio (Rio de Janeiro). They say their influence for these six songs on the EP come from British bands from the 2000′s.
Sound Bullet formed in 2009 in Rio de Janeiro and are very proud (for good reason) for their first EP Ninguém está Sozinho. The songs on the EP reflect society and the relationships we find ourselves in.
The Indie Leak and The Global Bass Experience are very proud to share this excellent EP with all of you here. With impeccable engineering and production, Ninguém está Sozinho sounds excellent. We need to get these songs out there because Sound Bullet deserves to be touring internationally for all to experience.
Here is a first for The Indie Leak, a mixtape featuring global beats spanning the entire world. With Pop, Soca, Afrobeats, Dancehall, RnB and more, DJ CeeJay takes the listener on one hell of a journey. Sure several of the Pop tracks in the mix are uncommon for this site and for this article but just because we don’t cover much Pop doesn’t mean it can’t be here. Also this mixtape covers popular music globally. Let’s send this out to space far beyond our solar system so the aliens or floating around spiritual beings or whatever is out there, can know what the Earth is about. We can breathe life into some rogue planets and dark matter with our sounds.
I came across this interesting music video about stereotypes. It’s written and performed by rapper Philippe Prosper. It’s been getting a lot of buzz, which is what it deserves. It’s cleverly shot and the lyrics are very clever, you’ll be hanging on every word.

The last stop today will be on a collaboration I did with a producer named Minor2Go. I honestly don’t have much information on the guy. I found several of his orchestrations he composed and sampled them. They inspired me to create new music around them in a Shoegaze-Downtempo fashion. Minor2Go provided the basis for the songs with his beautiful orchestrations, then I laid down the beats, guitars, extra synths and effects. I sampled and rearranged some of the vocals to create a different effect.
Crypticology is some very melancholically moody music. I suggest laying down under the stars and look up while listening on headphones.
